Dedicated to excellence in quality pre-hospital care to people in the heart of Winona County.

The Lewiston Volunteer Ambulance was established in 1974. It has grown throughout the years, and the service is now responding to over 200 calls per year. Total coverage area consists of 125 square miles which include the Cities of Lewiston, Utica, and Stockton. Lewiston Ambulance also responds to the townships of Hart, Hillsdale, Fremont, Warren, Utica, and Norton. In 2005 a full-time Ambulance Director was hired. This position handles the day to day operations of the service, is in charge of the Emergency Medical Responder training program, teaches CPR and also responds to emergencies Monday-Friday 6am-6pm. Lewiston Ambulance provides Basic Life Support, and works with Winona and Mayo Clinic Ambulances along with Mayo One and Gundersen Air when Advanced Life Support is necessary. The crew currently consists of 26 Emergency Medical Technicians, 6 EMR/Drivers , and 1 Paramedic.

The Lewiston Ambulance offers a wide variety of classes.  Class schedules vary depending on demand.  Courses offered include:

• Emergency Medical Responder Initial (Formerly known as First Responder)
• Emergency Medical Responder Refresher
• American Heart Association BLS CPR
• American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR
• American Heart Association First Aid
